Gene is the executive chef at Brook Hollow Golf Club, one of the most renown and exclusive country clubs in the nation. As the executive chef, he serves a refined membership combining his extensive culinary knowledge with a talent for crafting distinctive menus–offering both traditional and unconventional pairings. 

Prior to joining Brook Hollow, Gene served as Senior Executive Chef at University of Texas at Dallas and as Executive Sous Chef at Central Market. He was also Director of the Texas Chef Association, Dallas Chapter from 2017-2021. His diverse background has afforded him the opportunity to cook alongside some of the most renowned chefs of Texas helping him develop specialties ranging from wine pairings to Italian, American, and Continental Cuisine.

Gene is a certified executive chef of the American Culinary Federation and a member of the Epicurean World Master Chefs Society. In 2018 he was awarded “Texas Chef of the Year” by the Texas Chef Association and earned the title of Iron Chef Champion in 2015 for Chartwell’s South-Central Region. Gene received his Hospitality and Restaurant Management and completed his chef apprenticeship from the American Culinary Federation, and El Centro College.

Outside of the kitchen, Gene is committed to giving back to the local community volunteering for the Merit LIVE Peterson Foundation, Mercy Chefs, Back the Blue UT Dallas, and the Richardson community.
